ASTRO MUNDI - Joy Usher and Mari Garcia Saturday and Sunday - 12 and 13 July, 2008 9:00am - 4:30pm
Metro Hotel, 61 Canning Highway, South Perth WA
Joy Usher and Mari Garcia of Astro Mundi in Adelaide did not dissappoint, presenting the following topics:
JOY:
SURVIVE OR THRIVE ? Life's Primary Motivation - All levels: beginners upwards
"Every man should have a purpose in life. A man without a purpose lives on, like
a cabbage in a field, but knows no life." Joseph Addison
What drives you forward in life ? How do you determine where your purpose in
life lies, and how can you accomplish it ? This workshop explores these questions
by delineating the chart through the focus of a technique known as 'primary motivation.'
The technique borrows from traditional principles, but is easily and effectively
incorporated in modern astrological practice.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE - All levels: beginners upwards
In traditional astrology the three planets of Moon, Venus and Mars are a threesome
collectively known as 'the nocturnals'. They guide our desires, our appetites and our emotions, and yet they are often
the planets with which we have the most uneasy relationship. This workshop introduces the nocturnals, giving you a whole new perspective on
their collective power. The workshop gives examples on how we can examine the natal chart to determine
the nature of 'the wild ones', and how we can tame them to our best advantage.
MARI:
ARCHETYPES AND ADDICTIONS - All levels: beginners upwards
The notion of addictions is not confined to substances but can also be applied
to addictive behaviour patterns. Individuals can be engulfed by obsessions, which
can be detrimental. Uncovering and understanding the underlying archetype in
these behaviours can be a powerful tonic. This lecture will expore Pluto's influence
with the personal planets as a signature of obsession and addiction in the individual.
The lecture will also focus on the key issues underpinning these combinations
and the possoble ways in which they can be realised, released and integrated.
CASTING DOWN AND RISING UP: THE ORIGINS OF THE 2ND AND 8TH HOUSES - All levels: beginners upwards
The terms 'epicataphora' and anaphora' are not familiar to the modern astrolger.
They are names given to the 2nd and 8th houses and refer to their role as portals
of the underworld. This workshop looks at the meaning of both these houses and
their significance in astrological practice.

2007 Annual General Meeting and Christmas BBQ - 18 November 2007
Held at the beautiful home of Carol and David Jenkins, 53 Sandringham Promenade, CANNING VALE WA.
A short and efficient meeting was held with all matters attended to, including
an increase in FAA membership fees, the first rise in seven years, and the new was committee elected for 2008.
We were all sad to farewell Edith from the Presidential post with accolades for
the way in which she has worked tirelessly, travelled enlessly, and totally committed
her boundless energy for the past four years in the position. However, all is
not lost..... Edith is only a short step away in the post of Vice President and
we are thrilled to welcome our brand new President Patricia Johns. We look forward to a great 2008 with our new committee.
Everyone brought a plate and stayed after the AGM to enjoy a relaxed BBQ lunch
of tender Baramba organic beef with fabulous salads and extremely sumptuous sweets to
uphold the tradition of the past few years. We caught up with colleagues and celebrated
the festive season in style.
Sunday 9 September, 2007 - 9:30am - 4:30pm
METRO HOTEL, 61 CANNING HIGHWAY, SOUTH PERTH
What an amazing, educational, and enjoyable day...... We were privileged to hear
in great depth from Paul what drives the success and failure of relationships
through his thoroughly well researched synergy methods using Progressed Sun, Venus
and Mars close aspects. His book, When Stars Collide, shows why people fall in and out of love. It reveals for
the first time the hidden patterns associated with Venus that occur in the majority
of relationships. Bringing relationship and astrology into context, it takes a giant leap forward
in understanding not only how to find out who you will attract, but also when
you will attract them. It shows what drives your relationship, what kind of relationship it is likely
to be, and, above all, when the relationship will need to change if it is to survive.
19 May, 2007-Book Signing: Borders Bookstore, 625-635 Hay Street Mall, Perth-12:30pm to 2:00pm
20 May, 2007-GARY GOLDSCHNEIDER-Secret Language of the Stars workshop-Seasons Hotel, 37 Pier Street, Perth
The FAAWA was very proud to bring to Perth, Gary Goldschneider, international
astrologer, author of 8 astrology books, concert pianist, composer and personal counsellor. Born in Philadelphia and now living in Amsterdam, Netherlands Gary was an
absolute joy as a person and workshop presenter.
On Saturday 19 May, 2007 Gary and entourage attended Borders bookstore to sign his Secret Language of Birthdays book and delight the many people who
were treated to a quick and very accurate on the spot delineation of their personality,
strengths and weaknesses while he signed his books.
On Sunday 20 May 2007 the full day seminar, held in the poolside Pavillion Room started at 10:00am and
ran one hour overtime by popular demand, finishing at 5:00pm. The day was filled
with in-depth astrological detail and we were all constantly amazed at Gary's incredible
depth of knowledge, and his ability to list full details of famous people, and
the character of people born on every day of the year. It was unanimously agreed
that the cost of $130, which included the full day of astrology and and a sumptuous three course
lunch in the lovely Citro Restaurant, was money very well spent.
Following a very successful day many of the attendees retired to the Piano Bar
at the Seasons to be treated to a wonderful piano concert by Gary, followed by
great conversation, wine and an Italian meal and at nearby Venezia Restaurant.
A fitting finale to a fabulous weekend. We were all very sorry to see Gary leave
us and hope to entice him back to Western Australia as soon as possible.
With his Personology system, Gary Goldschneider has created a unique method
which divides each of the twelve signs into five sub-typessuch as Aquarius-Pisces
Cusp, Pisces I, Pisces II, Pisces III, and Pisces-Aries Cuspthereby sub-dividing
the astrological year into 48 personology periods. The precision this allows is
far beyond anything available in any other astrology book and provides a ground-breaking
new way for readers to look not only at their own lives, but their interactions
with those around them. Other popular publications by Gary Goldschneider are the "Secret Language of..."
series.
Saturday 20 January 2007 - National FAA Council AGM
Each alternate year in between the biennial FAA Conferences the FAA National
Council Annual General Meeting is hosted by a State and WA proudly hosted the
2007 AGM. Although members generally don't attend the AGM this was a chance

Western Australian hospitality at the Big Day Out social event held the next day.
Sunday 21st January 2007 - Big Day Out in the country
A busload of 46 national councillors and local members enjoyed a fun packed event
in Gingin. Meeting at the Burswood Casino carpark, we travelled in a 5 star (non
pumpkin) coach into the Aussie bush to learn about gravity and its research at
the Gravity Discovery Centre, enjoyed a sumptious homestyle country buffet dinner (including the amazing
bread and butter pudding!!) at Willowbrook Farm, and ended the night with guided star and McNaught comet gazing through the
